Tailing redfish in skinny water
Early morning flood tide on grass flats with water temperatures sitting at 68 degrees. Weedless gold spoons and unweighted shrimp patterns produced four solid slot fish along the western oyster bars.
Spring creek baetis hatch
Overcast drizzle dropped the barometer steadily after noon. Small size twenty olive emergers on 6X tippet fooled selective wild brown trout feeding in the quiet foam seams.
Deep reef smallmouth bass
Clear water visibility down to twelve feet on thirty-foot rock humps. Drop-shotting dark melon gobies in steady current yielded aggressive bronze backs holding tight to structure.
The creek temperature notes posted Thursday night kept us off blown-out water and pointed our crew straight to active tailwaters forty miles south.
